As always news about Ohana has a prominent space in our newsletter. A few weeks ago we received an e-mail from the niece of Del Kealoha informing us of his passing. I think the last time we saw him was at last year’s Ho’olaulea. The administration was extremely touched by the e-mail that we received from Leinaala. And as we always do the Aloha Golf Club stepped up and provided the family with a check in the amount of $500.00.
We felt that due to the circumstances it was “the right thing” to do. Because Del was not a current AGC member we are going to “pass the hat” to recoup the money that we donated. This is not mandatory and there is no amount that you should feel obligated to give. Some guys have already pledged $10 while others have pledged $25. Whatever you provide will go back to replenish the funds that we used to help a former AGC member in need. If we collect more than the $500 we’ll pass this on to the family to help them out with their financial problems.
Our Commander in Chief sent Leinaala the following message:
Hello Leinaala,
My name is Ron Lazo and Im the President of The AGC. I'm saddenedby the news of your Uncle. I remember him when I was much younger and I had a good time with him at a recent New Years Eve party at Buddy Victors. I am very sorry for your loss.
I will pass this news onto the ol'timers in our club that knew Del best and create a way to help you in your time of need.
Our prayers are with you
RLazo
