I think the first tournament that I have to right about is Balboa.
Most of you probably know that Balboa was a famous explorer from Spain BUT did you know that the Chinese actually discovered America in 1421!! Almost 200 years before Columbus!! So how about the Tommy Lo? Just like his ancestors he discovered a way to bring Balboa to its knees. He’s a very stealthy competitor…

Sorry my bad, it’s just a cheap copy of a Victoria Secret Wonderbra. I wonder what the Chinese would fill it with….okay let me get back on track. Tommy says he doesn’t get out to play much but don’t believe it. I caught him on a nice sunny day practicing at Alondra during the week last summer. He was experimenting with different clubs. So if you ever wonder why Tommy seems to always be in the money it’s because
he practices his ass off. The fact that he sells cars for a living also probably has something to do with his on-course demeanor. While Cliff A. is having an out of body experience as the bottom of the hole…Tommy is figuring out how he’s going to get the course to give up pars, just like he would try to get you to buy the 18 inch wheels, nav and 84 month extended service contract!!

This was also the first round of the Club Championship Match Play. A lot of matches went down to the last hole. Bill K. won one up over Hank P, Corey H. won one up over Dino, Danny D won one up over Dr. Q, Paul C won one up over Steve G, and Tommy L won one up over the Prez. Inthe battle of the Bobby’s, Bobby O. beat Bobby I. 5 and 4, and in the battle of the KK’s—KK beat Al Chang 3 and 2.
Also if you weren’t good enough to make it to the Club Championship you still had the ability to make it to the Opala Championship aka the Loser’s bracket. The following 8 guys made it to the Opala bracket, Ben S., me, Brian T., Mike J., Harry B, Bobby I., Dr. Q, and Dennis O.
